Oldsmobile Profile
EXAGERATED
The Oldsmobile Profile is a modelling and visualization excercise. With the Oldsmobile Profile, I wanted to imagine what a “production” model from the brand could’ve looked like today, if the brand never shut down in the early 2000s. With it, i also wanted to see what happened if I stayed truthful to the original sketch, and I didn’t adjust the proportions to better fit the segment I invisioned for it.
Brand History
FATHER’S OLDSMOBILE
Founded in 1897 by Ransom E. Olds, Oldsmobile was one of the first automotive brands to be established in the early days of motoring, and the first one to mass produce cars in the world. It was later aqcuired by General Motors and remained as part of the corporate umbrella until it’s closure in 2002. Some of their most iconic cars come from the 60s and 70s, with their later models becoming bland re-badges with some exceptions like the Oldsmobile Aurora.
Market Positioning
NOT JUST A CROSSOVER
Oldsmobile’s dissappearcance is attributed to the old brand image they had in their later years. With the reintroduction of Oldsmobile, the postitioning we envision is the entry level luxury makret.
Positioned between Chevrolet and Buick, with the main competitors being Genesis, Volvo and Mazda. Targeting the most lucrative market as of now, the B Segment Crossover. Specific models to compete with are, the Genesis GV60, the Volvo XC-40 Rechanrge and the Mazda MX-30.

GERALDINE LETTA
This is Geraldine Letta, she is 25 years old, and is an IT Specialist. She lives in the Santa Monica Beach area of Los Angeles, California. And works at Google of L.A.
She lives alone with her dog, which she takes to Santa Monica Beach to walk it while she rides a longboard, but on the weekends she will take it to the Griffith Park for a walk and to play.
Everynow and then she will go to Car Shows with her friends and her Oldsmobile Profile, which she has upgraded and re configured to fit her needs to have some fun.

Through the developement of the vehicle’s design and mockery of it, I explored different body styles and options, from a larger segment of market, to a more race like compact crossover.
I ended up being more drawn to the crazy proportioned 2 door option, as a more dynamic roof line, unconventionally oversized wheels.
